Peachtree Accounting Software Technical Help
Peachtree Unable to restore backup
Problem
Unable to restore backup. Access denied errors. Problems with Data Verification.
If you are unable to restore an existing backup file after having problems with your Peachtree Accounting you will need to reboot all computers that use the software. This includes the file server. When errors occur the operating system locks the files, if Peachtree aborts a task, it does not unlock the file. Only restarting the computer will unlock these files.
Make sure all users are logged out of your files server prior to restarting. If you are unsure of this, then find someone who is. Never reboot a file server or workstation that is being used to supply data to other computers.
It is also a good idea to copy the existing Peachtree Company data directory to a different directory prior to restoring an backup file. This will assist you if the backup file is damaged.
