Btrieve Initialization failed Error 20
This may be caused by an incompatibility between another program and Peachtree Complete Accounting (Windows version).
On a Windows 98 or Windows NT, from Start, Run, type in BTI.INI. The file will come up in Notepad. Look for the [Btrieve] section. Note the line that has local=, change this to say:

Local=yes

Next, select the File menu and choose Save. Then exit. Restart your computer, and open Peachtree Complete Accounting (Windows version).
Note: that changing this might impact another program.


Btrieve Initialization failed Error 2003 or Btrieve Initialization failed Error 1008

To correct these errors follow these steps:
Using Explorer, locate these files in your Peachtree program directory:(Usually C:\Peachw)

Wbtr32.exe
Wbtrcall.dll
Wbtrlocl.dll
Wbt32res.dll
Wbtrvres.dll

Copy these files into your \Windows\System\ directory.

It is possible that the BTI.INI file may be damaged. From Windows Explore do a search or find for the BTI.INI and delete this file. Next do a find or search for the Btrieve.TRN, and delete this file. Using your installation disks or CD-Rom, reinstall Peachtree. Peachtree will rewrite the BTI.INI and when Peachtree is opened the Btrieve.trn will be recreated.
