Peachtree Unable to Determine Security Privileges
This page contains information about Peachtree Accounting "Unable to Determine Security
Privileges" error.
Unable to determine security Privileges error is all about damaged Peachtree Accounting
Software files. It has nothing to with any security systems, user's rights
or module access rights.
These errors happens when the connection to the Peachtree database is broken, either
by power loss, a workstation freezing or network connection broken. There
is no easy way to repair the damaged files, except restoring a prior backup or having
your files professionally repaired by DataSoft.
If you choose to restore a prior company backup file, always first create a copy
of the current damaged company's data. Copy the existing damaged data into
a different subdirectory, not located near the existing one. We would suggest
creating a C:\DamagedPeachtree subdirectory and copying it there. The reason
for copying the damaged company's data is a safety measure, if by chance your backup
is also corrupt. Remember that any accounting data you entered since your
last backup will be lost and need to be reentered; this includes transactions, customer/vendor/inventory
maintenance records. The rule here is always copy the existing files prior
to attempting to repair it.
Why would my backup be corrupt? Well sometime it takes multiple events for
this corruption to appear. The files could have been damaged weeks ago but
because you did not hit the damaged records you where unaware they exist.
If you do not have a current backup or it would take more then a 1/2 day to reenter
your transactions, then have us repair the files for you. It is not worth
the time for you to reenter all your transactions as well falling a day behind with
your current entries.
What can DataSoft recovery from these files? It depends on when the damage
originally occurred. If it happened recently then we will be able to recover
100% subtracting the last transaction you where working on. If the data corruption
happened at a prior time then it depends upon the length of the time frame.
Entering data into a damaged file will only result in more damage data. We
normally can tell you which transactions are damaged; making it easier for you to
reenter what is missing. It is really difficult for us to tell you what how
much of the data is damaged or will be recovered, the only way for us to determine
this is by looking at your files. If you submit your damaged data files to
us and we are unable to fix them, there is never a charge.
Our recovery success rates are the highest in the industry, 98% of the time DataSoft
is able to fix 100% of your file damage.
